Product Description This sharp-looking laser pointer is compact enough to fit in a shirt pocket, yet powerful enough for business presentations in the largest auditorium. Ideal for business or technical people who don't want anything flashy, just functional. Features a pocket clip and includes a protective storage case. Caution: never stare directly into the beam of any laser or point it at anyone's eyes, regardless of the color or power.

Best laser pointer that uses regular batteries! March 9, 2007 roorat (Las Vegas, NV USA) 41 out of 41 found this review helpful
I was looking for a laser pointer to use as a cat toy, but wanted to avoid those that took "watch" batteries since they were so expensive to replace and wore out too quickly and stumbled upon this one. Amazingly, it takes AAA batteries, is not too big and bulky to handle, maintains a very bright red dot, and didn't cost a fortune to buy. My cats love it and my wallet loves it, too. Highly recommend.

A very fine Laser pointer February 28, 2006 Pon (LA) 56 out of 59 found this review helpful
This little pointer reminds me of the Montblanc pens, it's that nice. It's made with care and precision and comes in a fine reusable case. It clips easily on a shirt pocket and is about the size of a ball point pen. The on/off switch is a small pushbutton on the side. I can't relate to the city blocks thing to which the other reviews mention as for distance or strength, but here in the country it easily puts a spot on one of my tenent houses a quarter mile away at night. That'll certainly suffice for exercising our house cat or pointing to something on TV. This is no cheap imitation or plastic, it's strong metal and a fine instrument indeed. I've paid many times over this cost for some not nearly as fine or strong in the past.
Awesome! July 29, 2005 Stephanie Manley (Houston, TX) 47 out of 50 found this review helpful
When I read another review I thought they were joking about it going as far as a city block. Guess what, it does! It comes in a very nice case, with brand name batteries, and its really nice. I don't know why anyone would want to pay more. I have seen others that cost more, and aren't as nice. The picture does not do this justice. It is a sleek black, pen-sized pointer. It has a clip so it can slip into a pocket. Presentations, playing with the cats, or driving people nuts in a crowd, this is useful, well-priced, and amusing toy.

excellent cat toy - some suggestions July 27, 2007 J. Palmer (Portland, OR) 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
This pointer is excellent in quality. I bought it as a cat toy; it took my cat awhile to "get it" (cat nip helps). Also, when starting to play, shine the light on your hand first, then "release" the light. At the end of the play session, "capture" the light in your hand and turn it off. That way the cat knows that you are the source of the toy and won't spend a lot of time staring around the room looking for the missing light. Much fun for the cat and good exercise!
It was a bargain at $9.99 January 4, 2007 MadDog (Tempe, AZ) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I just received mine and tried it out. It worked perfectly. No such problems as described by many reviewers. This is an inexpensive model and should not be expected to have the high quality of its more expensive counterparts. Nevertheless, both craftmanship and quality of this laser pointer are more than acceptable. The red dot projects by the pointer is not perfectly focused but is also not bad. I do not know about two city blocks, but I was able to project the red dot on a wall 200 feet away. I bought this pointer primarily for presentation and 200 feet range is more than what I need. As brought out by a couple of reviewers, there is no user manual. However, I did not experience any difficulty in getting the pointer functional. It is as simple as a flash light. American Science and Surplus, the vendor I purchased the pointer shipped promptly( via UPS ground the next day after order was placed ). Overall, very satisfied with the product as well as the vendor. Highly recommended.
