I received my linksys wip300 2 weeks ago since then, my phone is on and perfectly working. br /The signal is always excellent at the office, at home and sometimes in the street with open wifi connection! I use my phone with the French ISP called Free, can't complain. br /Definitely worth the $.

5 out of 5 stars Smooth Config, Sound Quality Awesome   July 23, 2007
Robb Dawson (Zeeland, MI)
The config was smooth. The Web GUI is easy to navigate. Sound quality is great. You can hear the voice easily overtop of loud background noises(ie - hydrualic machines). Should plan on setting up Qos on wireless.

It works very well. It's simple and easy to setup. But I can't call other contacts by name (type and store in memory characters).

3 out of 5 stars functional   July 30, 2007

I was able to connect to my WEP enabled wireless network and register a SIP connection to my openpbx installation with relative ease. The sound quality seems pretty good. However, there are several shortcomings for this phone. The battery life is abysmal. I can get maybe 36 hours of standby. The documentation is spotty. I tried to perform a firmware upgrade, but the web interface doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's just me and the lack of documentation. The phone itself seems to provide some upgrade tool, but the documentation does not mention it and the Linksys site provides no URLs matching its configuration. The buttons feel cheap, but work passably well. In summary, as my title indicates the phone is functional. I would recommend shopping around for a better alternative.

2 out of 5 stars Doesn't Work   January 12, 2009
Scott A. Burgan (Northern VA)
I bought this device to support demonstrations a little over a year ago. I had great difficulty connecting to a WIFI network. Once I did, I couldn't get the phone to associate with my SIP proxy. Thought that it was something I was doing wrong, so I waited to write this review. br / br /Well, since then I've set up dozens of other SIP devices and after seeing and reading about all of their document quirks, I decided to make another go at it. Still does not work. br / br /You are better off buying the latest device instead of making this one work.
